Key assumptions

The estimated cost of the vessels listed joining the UK Flag has been provided using the following assumptions:

All fee information is provided for indicative purposes only and is subject to change depending on the condition of the vessel, area/type of operation, PSC history and survey/audit regime applied.

No Pre-Flag Inspection will be required. There will be additional costs in the event that a pre-flag inspection is considered necessary at the time of application to register your vessel with the UK

The Initial Audit will be performed within 6 (six) months of UK registration and based upon 40 hours chargeable time per vessel.This is made up of 20 hours travel time (capped to 10 hrs each way) and 20 hours preparation time/activity on board. This is subject to change depending on location and condition of vessel at the time of inspection.

The vessel will be subjected to an MCA Risk Assessment and if accepted into EAS (Enhanced Authorisation Scheme) all ISM Audit activity will be delegated to the appropriate RO (Recognised Organisation).The Fee Indicator provided does not include any RO charges that will be due for ISM Audit activity undertaken.

All GI date "windows" shown are based upon MGN (Marine Guidance Note) 561(M) Annex 3.The vessel will be subjected to an MCA Risk Assessment and if accepted into EAS will be rated as "Standard" unless stated otherwise.Date of each GI has been costed using the latest date within each "window" although the actual timing of each GI will depend on availabilty of MCA Surveyors and location of vessels. Fees indicated for each GI are estimated based upon 30 Hours chargeable time per vessel.This is made up of 20 hours travel time (capped to 10 hrs each way) and 10 hours preparation time/activity on board. This is subject to change depending on location and condition of vessel at the time of inspection.

Each vessel will require its own suite of documents and certificates. The Fee Indicator provided includes for the provision of CECs (Certificates of Equivalent Competency) @ £109 each, a requirement for a proportion of CRAs (Confirmation Receipt of Application) at 22% of the annual no. of CECs and courier charges at an average cost of £12.80 per application.

The Fee Indicator provided does not include for the provision of TDLs (Temporary Dispensation Letters). These will typically be charged at £147.

All Seafarers will require an ENG 1 Certificate or equivalent. Where this needs to be obtained by a seafarer then a charge of £85 will be incurred.

The requirement for an annual DOC Audit will be subject to an additional cost where the activity is undertaken by MCA surveyors.

The Fee Indicator provided does not include for any travel and accommodation expenses incurred in the performance of audits/inspections by MCA personnel. These will be recovered on an actual basis from the vessel operator/manager.

Passenger vessels are not currently accepted into the Enhanced Authorisation Scheme.
